When are parties and Zombies coming back to Bodycam? Everything that's disabled and what the studio has said
Party with friends, Zombies mode, Wingman duo queue, anti-cheat, shop and languages: what's disabled in v0.8, why, and when each one returns according to Reissad. Updated September 24, 2026.
Three weeks after Locked & Loaded, the two questions the community keeps asking are: when can I play with my friends again? and when is Zombies coming back?
The short answer: Zombies has a rough target (Halloween) and parties have no date. Below is each case with exactly what the studio has said. Live status is on our Bodycam status page.

Parties: top priority, but no date
v0.8 shipped without a party system because, according to the studio, it was "well advanced" but not stable while player connectivity was still changing. In patch v0.8 #5 (September 18), Reissad gave more detail:
- Bringing back group queuing is the team's main focus.
- It's not a switch: parties are being rebuilt on a new connectivity layer.
- That rework also affects the anti-cheat, so both are moving together.
What it means: don't expect parties in just any small patch. They'll most likely arrive in a dedicated update, alongside the anti-cheat or close to it. That's an inference from what the studio has shared, not a confirmation.

Zombies: aiming for Halloween
Zombies was disabled with v0.8. The studio gave two reasons: rewriting the game broke parts of the mode, and the team admits it had become "too stagnant". The stated plan is to bring it back for Halloween, potentially with new content.
- It's an intention, not a locked date. If it holds, late October 2026 would be the logical window.
- It fits the mode's history: Zombies debuted in November 2024, in the middle of the Halloween season.
- When it returns, it would make sense for it to use v0.8's new loadouts, grenades and drones. More context in why Zombies was disabled.
Wingman 2v2 duo queue
Wingman, the new competitive mode, has been solo queue only "for technical reasons" since launch, and the studio said duo queue would come "as soon as possible". Since it depends on grouping with another player, it will most likely arrive with the new party system.
Anti-cheat
Patch v0.8 #1 described the integration as "well underway", and the studio chose not to rush it. Since patch #5 we know it's tied to the party work. No date yet.
Shop and languages
- Real-money shop: disabled; it will return "at a later stage". Skins you already bought are kept. For now, the studio suggests supporting the game by gifting it to friends.
- Languages: UI localization is disabled and will return "as soon as possible". The game is English-only for now.
How often does Bodycam update?
Since Locked & Loaded, the studio has shipped small patches on September 3, 4, 8, 11 and 18. The last three Friday patches came out a week apart. It's a pattern, not a commitment, but it suggests news nearly every week.
