Where is Zombies mode in Bodycam? Why it was disabled in v0.8 and when it returns
Zombies hasn't been available since Locked & Loaded. The studio explains why and points to Halloween 2026 for its return, possibly with new content.
If you're looking for Zombies mode in Bodycam's new Lobby and can't find it, that's because it has been disabled since Locked & Loaded (September 2, 2026).
Why it was removed
The studio gives two reasons:
- Technical regressions: rebuilding the game's foundations (C++ code, game modes, networking) broke parts of Zombies.
- Stagnation: the team admits the mode "had become too stagnant". It would rather reintegrate it properly into the new systems than keep it running with no real improvements.
The studio even apologized: it knows the decision disappoints a lot of players, but believes it's the best way for the mode to come back stronger.
When is it coming back?
The stated plan is to bring it back for Halloween, "potentially with new content". That's an intention, not a locked date. It fits the mode's history: Zombies debuted in November 2024, right in the Halloween season.
What to expect
When it was made permanent in December 2025, the studio described Zombies as an experimental lab and talked about more realistic, "science-based" threats. With v0.8's new loadouts, drones and grenades, a return that uses those tools would make sense. We'll confirm once official notes are out.
